Course Description:

This course will teach you how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and administer the opioid overdose reversal drug Naloxone. It will also introduce concepts of harm reduction with particular attention paid to opportunities for physical therapy professionals to contribute to solutions to the opioid public health crisis.

Objectives:

  • Recognize the signs of an opioid overdose
  • Acquire knowledge of how to administer the opioid overdose reversal drug Naloxone
  • Understand the role of harm reduction that PT professionals can lead in the overall strategy to address the opioid public health crisis.
